Research
- What is good about the webpage?
They have great pictures of their food. Their hours and location are present at the top of the page.
- What is bad about the webpage?
The color palette isn't appealing. The different typefaces and sizes are kind of all over the place.
- What is the biggest problem, as you see it?
The navigation only has home as an option.
- Find a local restaurant or food truck page that is done well and provide a link to the site. What makes this design successful?
Handsome Biscuit has a great website because of the hierarchy and solid color palette. All the information is laid out in a way that is easy to read and understand. I also love the gif made out of pictures to show them drizzling honey.
- What are the goals for your redesign?
To give users a pleasing experience when browsing the site and to present information effectively
- What is the desired action for a user?
To visit the restaurant or food truck and dine with them
- Who is the target audience?
Foodies and anyone craving or wanting to try street style Mexican food
- List characteristics of a hypothetical user.
Someone who wants to know what is on the menu and their operating hours and location. They may want to see pictures of the food or hire them for catering. Someone who enjoys tasty food.
- Ask someone who you know to interact with the site and record their observations.
They thought the site was plain and didn't have good navigation tools.
- You may need to redesign the logo. What are your initial thoughts?
I want the logo to represent the kind of food they sell and also be fun and inviting.
